Al Khater, Daniela crowned champions of ITT Cycling Race at Lusail International Circuit

In an intense and thrilling competition, the Individual Time Trial (ITT) cycling race took place at Lusail International Circuit, featuring 90 male and female cyclists across different age categories. The race distances were divided into three categories: the senior category covering 21.6 km, the junior category covering 10.8 km, and the cadet category covering 5.4 km.

Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi, Secretary-General, of Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation expressed his joy at the successful organization of the season’s first-time trial race. He emphasized that this event represents an important step in the development of cycling in Qatar.

He also extended his gratitude to Lusail International Circuit for hosting the race and praised the excellent facilities provided, which contributed to the event’s success. Additionally, he commended all the winners across the different categories and wished them success in future competitions. He encouraged all cyclists to participate in upcoming races to further advance cycling in Qatar.

The Qatar Cycling Federation continues its efforts to organize exciting and competitive events to promote greater participation in the sport. More championships are anticipated soon.

Abdulaziz Ali Al Mohannadi, CEO of Lusail International Circuit, also expressed his delight in hosting the event, stating:“We are thrilled to have Lusail International Circuit host this year’s individual time trial race. The circuit has been fully equipped to host such races, and we are always prepared to offer our best in every sporting event.”

He also praised the federation’s continuous efforts to elevate sports in Qatar and commended its dedication to delivering high-quality sporting events. He extended his gratitude to all participants for their commitment and enthusiasm, wishing them success in upcoming races.

Results

Elite Category – 21.6 km

  • First place: National team champion Fadhel Al Khater, who secured a well-deserved victory with a time of 26 minutes and 19 seconds
  • Second place: Abdullah Masoumi finishing 29 seconds behind the winner.
  • Third place Levin Jones

Junior Category – 10.8 km

  • First place: Abdelali Hamza, with a time of 15 minutes and 55 seconds.
  • Second place: Jassim Al Jaber, 39 seconds behind the winner.
  • Third place: Anas Abdelmalek

Cadet Category – 5.4 km

  • First place: Abdelaziz Al Adawi, a member of the cadet national team, with a time of 8 minutes and 48 seconds
  • Second place: Mohammed Al Hinai, 17 seconds behind.
  • Third place: Fahd Abdullah Al Kaabi, 22 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
