Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation Participates in UCI Congress in Rwanda

The Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation participated in the 194th Congress of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), which took place yesterday, 25 September 2025, in Kigali, Rwanda, on the sidelines of the UCI Road World Championships.

The Federation was represented by Eng. Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Tamimi, President of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation, and Mr Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi, Secretary-General, alongside representatives of national federations from across the world.

The Congress reviewed key developments in the sport of cycling and discussed strategic issues shaping the future of the sport at the international level. It also included elections for the position of UCI President and members of the Management Committee, which resulted in the re-election of Mr David Lappartient as President of the Union Cycliste Internationale.

The participation of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation in this global event underscores its commitment to supporting international engagement and strengthening relations with national and continental federations, further enhancing Qatar’s standing on the global cycling stage.
