Qatar Cycling Team Secures Multiple Bronze Medals at Arab Cycling Championship
The Qatar national cycling team continued to record positive results at the Arab Cycling Championship, currently taking place in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, securing multiple bronze medals across men’s and women’s events.
Qatar claimed the bronze medal in the men’s 48km individual time trial following a competitive race that saw the United Arab Emirates take the gold medal, while the host nation Iraq finished second. The medal presentation ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation.
In the women’s competitions, Qatari rider Lulwa Al Marri delivered a standout performance, claiming her second bronze medal of the championship. She secured third place in the 20km individual time trial before adding another bronze in the women’s individual road race over 58km, underlining her consistency and competitive level throughout the event.
The championship also marked the international debut of Qatari rider Amina Al Abdulmalek, who produced a solid performance reflecting the continued development of the women’s national cycling programme.
The Arab Cycling Championship features the participation of nine Arab national teams and will continue in Sulaymaniyah until 13 October 2025, with the Qatar national team set to compete in the remaining races.
